Main highlights

Skywalk, Sveti Jure, mountain road

Biokovo is the limestone mountain range that rises straight behind the Makarska Riviera. Its highest peak, Sveti Jure, reaches 1,762 metres, one of the highest points in Croatia.

Why go

A narrow mountain road climbs from near Makarska to the summit, with views over the coast and the islands. On the way, the Skywalk – a horseshoe-shaped glass platform over the cliff – is the park’s most popular stop.

Hiking trails lead to the peaks from the coastal villages, but they are long and exposed, so start early and carry water.

Getting there and around

The park entrance is on the road above Makarska. Entry is by ticket and the number of cars is limited in summer, so book online and go early.
