Orebić is a small town on the south coast of Pelješac, facing the town of Korčula across a narrow channel. Once home to many sea captains, it is now a relaxed beach town and the starting point of the ferry to Korčula.

Why visit

Captains’ houses with gardens line the coast, and the maritime museum tells their story. Trstenica beach is close to the centre, and a hilltop Franciscan monastery looks out over the channel.

Hikers climb Mount Sveti Ilija for wide views, and windsurfers head to nearby Viganj.

Where to stay

Stay near Trstenica beach or in the centre close to the ferry.

Getting there and around

Orebić is about two hours from Dubrovnik by car over the Pelješac Bridge. The car ferry to Korčula takes about 15 minutes.

Parking

Parking is easy outside the peak weeks; the ferry area is busy in summer.
