Fažana is a small fishing town on the west coast of Istria, a few kilometres north of Pula. It is the departure point for boats to Brijuni National Park, and its colourful harbour is lined with fishing boats and seafood restaurants.
Why visit
The town is known for sardines, and fresh fish is the thing to order here. The seafront promenade, a pebble shoreline and the old church give it a relaxed, local feel.
Fažana is a quiet base for Brijuni, Pula and southern Istria, with campsites and apartments close to the sea.
Where to stay
Accommodation is mostly private apartments and holiday homes, with large campsites on the coast nearby. Stay near the harbour if you want to walk to restaurants and the Brijuni boats.
Getting there and around
Fažana is about 8 km from Pula and 10 km from Pula Airport. Local buses connect it with Pula; boats to Brijuni leave from the harbour.
