Main highlights

Franciscan monastery, museum, forest paths

Košljun is a small, wooded island in the bay of Punat on Krk. For centuries it has been home to a Franciscan monastery, and today it is one of the island’s most peaceful places to visit.

Why go

The monastery church, cloister and museum hold religious art and everyday objects from Krk’s past. Paths lead through dense forest around the island, with views back over the bay.

The visit takes two or three hours, which makes it an easy morning or afternoon trip from Punat or Krk Town.

Getting there and around

Boats leave from the waterfront in Punat and take a few minutes. There is a small entrance fee for the monastery and museum.
