Main highlights

Biograd na Moru is a seaside town about 30 km south of Zadar. Once the seat of medieval Croatian kings, it is now a busy holiday town with marinas, pine-shaded beaches and boat trips to the islands.

Why visit

The old town sits on a small peninsula, with a long seafront promenade and Soline, the town’s main pine-shaded beach. In season, excursion boats leave the waterfront for Kornati National Park and Telašćica Nature Park.

Vransko jezero (Lake Vrana) Nature Park, Croatia’s largest natural lake, is a short drive away and good for cycling and birdwatching. A ferry crosses to Tkon on Pašman island, and the Dalmaland theme and water park is just outside town.

Where to stay

Stay in the town centre for restaurants and the promenade, or near Soline beach for a quieter stay. Campsites and resorts continue along the coast towards Pakoštane.

Getting there and around

Biograd is about half an hour by car from Zadar and Zadar Airport. Buses run along the coast between Zadar and Šibenik, and a car ferry links Biograd with Tkon on Pašman.

Parking

Parking in the centre is paid and busy in summer. Arrive early or park further from the seafront.
