Main highlights

Skradinski buk, Roški slap, Visovac monastery

Krka National Park protects the canyon of the Krka River inland from Šibenik – a chain of travertine waterfalls, lakes and old watermills. Its best-known falls, Skradinski buk, are among the most visited sights in Croatia.

Why visit

A loop of boardwalks and paths leads around Skradinski buk, past cascades, pools and restored watermills. Swimming below the falls has not been allowed since 2021, but the walk alone is worth the trip.

Further upriver, Roški slap is quieter, and boat trips run to Visovac, a tiny island with a Franciscan monastery in the middle of the river.

Where to stay

Most visitors stay in Šibenik or Skradin and visit Krka as a day trip. Skradin is the closest town and quiet in the evening once day visitors leave.

Getting there and around

The two main entrances are Skradin, with a boat up the river to Skradinski buk, and Lozovac, with a shuttle bus down to the falls. Both are about 20 minutes by car from Šibenik. Buy tickets online in summer; prices are higher in peak season.

Parking

There is parking at Lozovac and in Skradin; both fill by mid-morning in July and August.
