Bol is a small town on the south coast of Brač, at the foot of Vidova Gora, the highest peak of the Adriatic islands. It is best known for Zlatni Rat, the long pebble spit that is one of the most photographed beaches in Croatia.
Why visit
A pine-shaded promenade leads from the harbour to Zlatni Rat in about 20 minutes. Steady afternoon winds make Bol the main windsurfing and kitesurfing centre of the Croatian coast.
The Dominican monastery at the eastern end of town, the old stone harbour and hikes up to Vidova Gora fill days away from the beach.
Where to stay
Stay near the harbour for restaurants, or along the promenade towards Zlatni Rat for the beach.

Catamarans connect Split with Bol in season. By car, take the ferry from Split to Supetar and drive across the island. Brač Airport is a short drive away.
